CLASSIC COUNTRY SHOWDOWN..#1KING OF THE "IVORY'S" who's TAKING!

Question: CHARLIE RICH
JERRY LEE LEWIS
FLOYD CRAMER
MICKEY GILLEY

Answers: CHARLIE RICH
JERRY LEE LEWIS
FLOYD CRAMER
MICKEY GILLEY

I have an awful lot of Floyd Cramer albums, but since Charlie Rich is on the list... well, the two of 'em can duke it out. Both have styles of tickling the ivories that set them off so that you can tell immediately that's them playing that piano. But... Charlie sang so well on top of playing that piano... I'm afraid he has a slight, (ever so slight) edge over Floyd.

Floyd Cramer...he did his thing gracefully.

the killer..JERRY LEE! smokin!!

Just "tickling the Ivorys", would be Cramer, but Showmanship, you've got to give it to Jerry Lee!! (No 13 yr. old cousin jokes please!!)

Cramer is great... but my vote must go to The Last Man Standing... The Killer !!!!!

Jerry Lee Lewis, the jerk

Jerry Lee Lewis! Who else can still play the piano with their feet.

I gotta give this one to the great Floyd Cramer. He was so often heard on the recordings of other greats and was an icon. I also like Little David Wilkins. For a rowdy rip rearing performance it was The Killer in the earlier days.

Jerry Lee Lewis

On a purely musical basis-Charlie Rich. He was capable of of playing everything from classical to be-bop. As a pianist, Mickey Gilley is a pale imitation of his cousin, who is a pale imitation of Smiley Lewis. Floyd probably cut more sides than the other three put together, but he never did much for me.
