Question: i like the catchy beat of Panic! at the disco, green day is ok and not so much of the MCR and fall out boy though,... any other bands you would recommend... may it be mainstream, indie or underground....it would also be GREAT by the way if its MORE indie and underground and you could provide the links... love catchy beat... thanks !!!

Firstly, to those idiots moaning about what punk is not.. you dont know the first thing about punk, i do admit panic and fallout boy isnt punk. But there are many forms of punk, not only hardcore like black flag or circle jerks. She can like w.e she likes, you dont have to moan about it.
Youre more into like a poppy version of punk.( that is punk,not soome other genre ahem ahem some people)

Those music are all punk-inspired and does have a punk touch. Those people who are saying it isnt are plain stupid.
-To that guy asking bout the Ramones, Ramones started off in a punk scene. They did play punk music. When they first started there wasnt any "punk" music they could take influence from. They just did what they did, and people called them punk(what they are) They have some songs that is musiically punk( Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue) some Rock N Roll influnced(I dont wanna grow up)
And btw panic or fallout boy isnt punk.. green day is though.There a type of melodic-mainstream-rock who claim to have influence from Punk music..
Im not sure youll find catchy beats in punk.. But if you check out the punk/new wave band Bow Wow Wow.. who have a very individual sound. They combine punk music with cool beats (african drums etc.)

first of all, that's more of a pop punk almost emoish genre that you're into. punk is like millencolin, flogging molly, bad religion, the vandals, some people fight over who started punk, the sex pistols or the ramones, but i'd say the beatles, because they were considered the punks of their generation. i could go on forever.

None of those bands you listed are punk to begin with. Sex Pistols, Black Flag, Husker Du, Dead Milkmen, Dead Kennedys. Those are punk bands.

I don't want to say that they're not unique that they're not one of a kind (allthough I personally don't like them-but that's irrelevant) that they haven't got a place in rock history, but PUNK???!!
