How to survive in a rock concert?!

Question: So i'm going to rock concert this weekend and it's my first time, by myself and i'm in the mosh pit.
I know it's pretty dangerous, but i think i will be fine but i'm just scared of one thing, since the concert it's indoor and it will get stuffy or humid after a while.

So what can i do if i can't really breath?
I would want to go for fresh air if this happen but that means i'm gonna at the back of the mosh pit again.

any advice please?

lol you should be fine.

Rules of a mosh pit

EVERYONE LOOKS AFTER EVERYONE
STONG LOOK AFTER WEAK, OLDER AFTER YOUNGER, EXPERIENCED AFTER NEWBIES.

IF SOMONE WANTS OUT THEY EITHER CROWD SURFED OUT OR CROWD MAKES CHANNEL AND LETS(PULLS YOU OUT TO BACK)

Stay off the booze or other drugs.

Drink water, ideally lemon in water or coconut milk from coconut.

To stay cool pour water over head.

Take off t shirt or have sleveless t shirt... (note girls some sort of boob covering top advisable.

DO NOT take in a bag on your back as can pull you dowm.

No steel caps they hurt others.

Nothing around your neck that cant break easy.

Shin guards good (incase crowd surf and shin bumps barrier as taken out (really hurts for ages)

No glasses use contacts. or at least tie on glasses.

Wear t shirt that strong enough to be dragged by as pulled out from under people and helped up.

Crowd surfing out is the best way out especially if hot, weak (ie tired) or hurt. (rare)

NEVER NEVER put your arms down your side you have no control and no air gap.

Keep arms in front elbos down so can push others away to keep air gap... protect girlfriend (puls hug and cop feel)

Form a triangle with forearms ... makes good gap and very strong.

If crowd moves to a side etc lift feet up and crowd carry you pinned in place that way you stay upright... if feet stay still and you move you go down like dominos with all on top.

if you feel you dropping reach out and grab others (and return favour).. if still go down try and pull in arms and legs to protect body organs and head... shuold only be for a few secs before others around you pull you clear and up and see if you ok.

If being steped on try and relax and loosen up and pull in limbs... if limbs tense more likly to get hurt.

As said stay cool and avoid first few rows squashed aginst barriers till the end oncore (good for souveneeer drumsticks etc)

Phones must be leashed pref with elastic and cameras and wallets.

Smuggle in plastic water pbottles down back and front of belt with loose t shirt . (little waterpistol also good.(down pants)

Security searches crap.

Also neat trick is the decoy... have a few drinks in bag which security takes off you thinking they got the drinks... only you have some move in sports told you apout or in cacket arms.

NO GLASS EVER.

Tie on trainers very well... tying up laces in gig pit not good for health... neiter is loosing shoes.

Advaisable to place watch in pocket and have sealable pockets for above mentioned items.

Bit silly buying anything not poketable or tie onable awround waist pre gig... where do you put it... unless have cloakroom.

Toilet taps good for water and cooling.

Hold hands in air between songs ... cool air evapourates sweat off arms and cools you down.

get fired up in pit a sort of anger ... tiger roar but not in a nasty way... think more powering up super powers..

If arm caught in crowd pull out quick to avoid break.people will understand your arm was caught.

No elbowing kicking swinging fists.

Bring several condoms... some if get lucky other to make pre band balloons for crowd entertainment... inflatable sheep also popular.

If cant breaht ask mate to pick you up.

To get back to spot after crowd surf pick to reference points.

To get to front is determination and make like water between gaps.

there is normally a packed buffer zone between main crowd and pit,... get through as pit much scooler and full of air and looser.

Enjoy and have fun ...nobody wants you hurt and all look after you

If you think it is going to cause you damage, don't go.

Wear boots if possible or closed toed shoes. If it gets that hot just step away and fight your way back to the front of the crowd later. Also how do you know your in the mosh pit? Normally these get started near the stage and in corners but then it all depends on the show so they could be everywhere.

inhaler and mini fan and oh cologne/perfume

trust me it works

trust me, you wont get hurt, only the big guys get hurt, dunno why, i was in the middle of a slayer pit (slayer are like the most brutal band in history live) and i saw this guy who was at least 6ft5 big build and he had a massive gash on his head so people crowd surfed him to the front, it was amazing!

but if there is a wall of death, what ever you do, DONT RUN DOWN THE MIDDLE!!! peopledo not appreciate this and they tend to go for you when thy run together, i discovered this the hard way, but hell, i got on tv cos of it, yay!

if you are near the front you will get hot, so whatever you do dont wear jeans and i wouldnt bother taking a sweater with you either, believe it or not if you are desperate to cool down go and stand next to a pit cos theres fresh sir, just make sure there is not bell end trying to push you in. another good way (this is only if you are really desperate and are about to faint) is to ask someone to crowd surf you to the front, not to mension its unbelievable fun, just make sure you have no loose items in your pokets first

you go and have a good time, there is nothing to be scared of, most people are really freindly and will help you up if you fall over, you get the odd jerk, but they arte the people who end up hurt cos no-one likes em, but go and have fun!

btw, which band u seein?

EDIT: ooo, linkin park are good live, i saw them for the first time in june, they played loads of their old song which i was really pleased about, you might be pleased to know their crowd wasnt too violent, quiete a few pits but when you out of the pits there is no movement.

anyway, have fun!

wht i always do in a concert when im feeling nauseous is to try and stand on my tiptoes and get my head as high as possible so i can breathe some fresher air... Bringing a mini fan is also possible as this will help u if ur slightly short.
A definite no-no is to sit down if u begin to feel dizzy as many ppl may just trip over u, causing some turmoil..
If things come to worst, just go to the back of the hall coz the ppl density there is much less and therefore there is less pushing and there is more air.

A water pistol is not a good idea. Like it was said earlier even though you are moshing, mosh pits arent about trying to go out and hurt others. It happens sometimes mostly on accident. Its the big guys that get hurt because they are idiots and are trying to go out and hurt someone'

bring a machine gun and a glock, and threaten people with it

be a part of it

A Linkin Park Concert? Honestly there won't be a mosh pit. At least not one that you are thinking of fearing for your own safety. Come on here to get answers when you actually go to a real metal/rock concert not a band marketed towards 15 year old girls and rubber people who don't shave yet.

hmm whell are you sure its even g.a. cus linkin park usally isnt

umm basicly you stay and dont breath or leave and dont get back in the pit

there's no way around it
thats just how it works

omg im jelous of you right now =p linkin park are AMAZING LIVE!! but anyways. when i went to my first concert [pro rev this summer] me and my friend who i went with, were really short. about 5 feet. [never got those growth sperts haha] and uhm most of the bigger and stronger will take care of you im sure. whenever someone crowdsurfed torwards us, we would just duck down.

get down low if you see someone coming. the people around you will keep you safe. DONT WORRY! =D

well i hope you have an amazing time, and really, dont worry. just bring a small bag [and i mean small] with your money and some water. waters always good. and remember, bigger people WILL help you. as mean as some of them might look, theyll be your best friends at concerts. haha
