Rock/Metal lovers...?!

Question: "Modern rock and metal isn't the same as it was two years or more ago, but it is still awesome"

Do you agree with my statement? Why or why not?

Answers: "Modern rock and metal isn't the same as it was two years or more ago, but it is still awesome"

Do you agree with my statement? Why or why not?

i sorta agree, im a metalhead and i listen to all kinds of metal from bands like slipknot, trivium to death metal bands like cannibal corpse and morbid angel. metal will never be the same again BUT Trivium is bringing Nu-Metal back and i bet that after they bring it back and wipe rap/hip hop out Rap-rock will come back

WE NEED MORE METAL SUPPORTERS

hell ya

I would say the date line would be much farther back, at least 10 years.
Isn't emo, screamo, punk, grundge and thrash all subgenres of rock?

I agree with your statement. I like the metal today and 2+ years. I enjoy listening to newer metal like HELLYEAH.

HELL YA!!!

Well I like Hardcore. Is this part of what you are referring to?

its cuz people don't know what metal is anymore.
the the popular thing with kids seems now..to be rap and "hardcore" music. And the stuff they listen to is crap.
atreyu..CRAP....in my world it doesn't seem that metal has changed much..other than the rising popularity of grindcore-esque deathmetal bands and underground such as The Red Chord., and such.
Metal is going strong..but i don't see much of a change..but maybe i listen to alot of underground 80's stuff but..it just seems like there isn't any good just metal bands anymore..death metal is always going great.

As for Rock...ehh its just about dead in the wave of the retarded hardcore takeover

let me rebut that with a big DUH. and its more like 10 yrs. Rock/Metal hasn't been the same since Nirvana ok?

yes cause it is true it isnt the same but it is still good man!!!!

First. Thrash IS Metal. Second. To answer your question - yes, of course, Rock and Metal are always evolving, but not enough for me to have noticed any huge change. Two years, is too short a time frame to be thinking how much Rock has changed - unless you're 14 and have only been into Rock for two years? Then you may have noticed some change. But I'm older than that, and pretty much listen to a lot of the same bands I've always done. I'm going to see Motorhead this weekend - and it will be the third time in "two years", so for me, not a lot has changed in this period! Megadeth finally put out an album that doesn't suck. Bands like Katakylsm, Amon Amarth and Behemoth seem to be getting more recognition. The Scandinavian Metal scene seems to be getting ever more bigger in the U.S - and I get the feeling a lot more American Metal fans are growing their hair long again, in keeping with that traditional Metal imagery that has always been big in Europe. Nu-Metal seems to have died a horrible death - I never noticed it dying, because I never listened to it in the first place, feels like I just woke up one day and noticed it was no longer around. Real Metal is cool again after taking a knock in the 90's - not that real Metal fans ever went away to begin with. There are ever increasing amounts of women attending Metal gigs - that is a bonus. There seems to be more Metal clothing accessory stores now than what there used to be, and they have a better range of things to buy. But I would say that, all this change has happened more over the last five years than simply two years.

I'm a die hard 70s &80s Metal Fan.
