What version of "The Velvet Underground and Nico" by The Velvet Underg!
Question: I am 14 and listen to what I consider good music,like the Velvet Underground. If I get "The Velvet Underground and Nico" should I get the regular CD of the album (with stereo versions of each song), or the Deluxe Edition (with stereo mixes and mono versions of each song). I need this album in my collection,and I want to see what you people reccommend. Thank you!

You have no idea how happy it makes me to see a 14 year old who listens to bands like The Velvet Underground instead of FOB or MCR.
This album could easily be considered one of the best. albums. ever. It's a masterpiece. With this said I highly recommend you get the regular CD because this album is best listened to from beginning to end, without hearing the two versions of each song. Besides, mono sound is very unimpressive, especially with a band like this one.
And if you care to expand your collection I highly recommend their self-titled album, Loaded, and White Light/White Heat as well. They're all excellent.
hi! i love the velvet undergroud! i have the regular CD, and it works fine for me. the deluxe edition sounds cool , but ive never heard it so i wouldnt know. happy buying!
Depends on whether you just want the songs or if you're a collector. There's nothing wrong with either choice, although UMG's Deluxe Editions tend to be a tad overpriced (around $35 where I live). I am a collector, so I definitely love getting as much as possible regardless of a little difference in price., and the mono versions of the songs are a little different, but not always immediately apparent. Just remember that no matter your decision, you're getting one of the essential albums of the late-'60s.
