Animated Film and music?!
Question: Back in the late '80's or early '90's HBO repeatedly showed an animated short with classical music background. It began with ocean creatures crawling onto the land and evolving into land creatures, then dinosaurs, then mammals and finally man.
Does anyone know what the music was? I believe it was by a classical composer (Beethoven, Bach, etc).

Try "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg
No idea about the animation, but it is a piece that progresses in speed and complexity which does fit an evolution theme.

In the original Fantasia movie, there was a sequence about the evolution of the earth that included creatures emerging from the sea and evolving to dinosaurs. The music for that sequence was "The Rite of Spring' by Igor Stravinsky.
That sounds like the creation of the world segment from "Fantasia." The music used in that sequence was Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring." Quite a frightening, but lively work.
