Answers: One more time I would not consider Kenny Rogers as Classic country at all. He made good fodder for the tabloids a few years back but classic country he is definately not. I agree with the other poster that I hold Kenny boy responsible for much of the dreadful (yes dreadful cause it is) stuff that we are encountering today.

No question about it. I consider him one of the classics. With songs like Lucille, Reuben James, The Gambler... how couldn't you call him country.?

I know he is considered country by most people I know but to tell you the truth, the first album I ever owned was Kenny Rogers and the First Edition and when I bought it, I didn;t think I was buying a country album. I don't know what I would have classified him as then, I was probably too young to even think about it other than I liked them.
