You learned many of the same things I did =)

You're moving along... slow and steady wins the race. Rushing ahead leads to frustration and a lack of progress in over-anxious guitarists.

At some point you'll need to branch out and not play solos/intros... in fact, I would focus more on rhythm/chords starting out, or at least learn a complete, easy song or two. You know enough song fragments for now =P

Once you know a lot of chords/power chords, can change between them quickly, and have some rhythm down; a lot of songs will be at your disposal. Some bands (i.e. Greenday) use a lot of power chords.

How's your finger-picking? House of the Rising Sun is good practice for that. My cousin taught me the song in just a few minutes, so it's pretty easy to learn. Changing chords and picking up to speed is the challenge.

Horse with No Name -> Knocking on Heaven's Door -> Wish You Were Here -> Hurt are good songs to learn, in that order, for rythym and some picking exercise.

Ironman is another easy song to start out with, kinda similar in difficulty to the Smoke on the Water intro but a tad bit harder. Still very easy to play and make it sound good.

Blues are also pretty basic and relatively easy/fun to play. It can help you get a basic understanding of music theory to boot. http://www.guitarnoise.com/article.php?i...

That site also has more lessons from technique, to theory, to beginner/intermediate songs. The author is a bit verbose, but then, so am I...
The intro to almost every song is the easy part, and I know your progress is doing well just keep practicing. A really easy song you can do, and I mean all of of the song, is Sunshine of your Love by Eric Clapton, its really simple, look up the notes or video, its just good practice. Oh and you should try learning at least the main notes and some power chords, go online and print them.
