because first of all, it is not distracting. When you are listening to your favorite music you tend to daze of and only listen to the music. second of all, it is a very calming type of music. It relaxes you and makes your brain think better. It creates a good background noise but is not to noisy... if that makes any sense.
Because it calms you.
because it's boring and it shifts your focus on your studies rather than the music
its not distracting
no lyrics
lol
thats funny
im going to try that
no words, so you're not distracted, and very calming. I use it if I need to focus, or just want to calm down.
It's not. I prefer rock/alternetive when im doing work. I guess it's personal preference
you can not get distracted by the words
Because it does not have percussion or lyrics. Percussion makes you nod your head and lyrics make you want to sing along. It helps you focus on what you're studying.
It is best to not listen to any music, as it distracts part of your brain. People who don't listen to music at all while studying consistently get higher scores.
classical music is good sor studying because it doesn't make u get bored of your homework and studies as quickly as not listening to anything. Also it has no lyrics, so it's not as distracting as music with lyrics. I hope this answers your question:)
i think it calms your mind and that way it is easier to retain what you are studying
maybe because your nerve cells gets relax then panicing. for me because im not listening my hardcore bands and i donot know the song is i donot pay attention. i will resarch it for you.
Since classical music doesn't generally have lyrics (unless you're listening to opera, in which case you probably don't understand the lyrics anyway,) you're concentrating more on your test and less on the lyrics. I think even when we don't realize it, we're listening to the lyrics of a song and probably not concentrating 100% on our work.
It more relaxing and doesn't have lyrics. It's just a calming background sound, and I doubt you felt any emotion from it whatsoever... If you did, congratulations.

Studying isn't something you should do with pumped up, angry, screaming noise. Don't get me wrong, I like death metal as much as the next guy, but different music is good for different scenarios.
There was a nueroscientist in the 1990's who studied this and I believe his answer was that melodically, a lot of classical music, be it guitar or a quartet or even a symphony, is much less stimulating in a distracting way and therefore can help the brain focus on and retain/record information. That's the pop answer to it if I remember correctly! I loved studying to lute or classical guitar.
i guess classical music has a history pf realxing the mind almost soothing and when youre relaxed your thoughts come to you much easier? thats what i think
It appeals to one side of your brain and allows the other side to focus on your studies... plus their are usually no lyrics to distract you, and even if there were, they are usually in Italian.... I love all kinds of music, including classical... it is great for your soul and spirit, and as you have discovered, it can improve mental function.
I also use music as a tool to study for a test. College group studies have indicated that people who listen to symphony orchestra music before and during studying, improve their memory and concentration, as a result their overall test scores are higher than their average counterparts who listened to other types of music or none at all. Most of all I listen to music because it makes me Happy. Music is Life.
It stimulates both sides of your brain, helps you focus, calms you down, and sharpens cognative response.
