Rock bands?!

Question: I need some rock bands...
they must not playing hardcore music...
and the lyrics of their songs must be not explicit...
(I'm just 12 years old!...my parents would kill me if they hear me listening to hardcore music)
thanks!...üüü

New? Well there's many different kinds of music that are classified as "rock" so ya... I'll try my best:

"rock" or pop-punk:
SOME of the Panic! At The Disco songs are ok. But majority are sexually explicit, and have a little bit of swearing. My parents dont like them, so yours probly wont either.
Fall Out Boy - NO swear words, but a few hidden sexual metaphors.
Armor For Sleep
Bayside
Billy Talent
The Fold
Midtown - Forget What You Know, their last album is pretty bad content wise, but the other 2 are innocent.

Rock thats too soft to be pop-punk:
Hedley - They have some swearing, but not a lot.
Faber Drive
The All American Rejects
Boys Like Girls
Plain White T's
Discover America

Alternative Rock, my favourite:
The Hush Sound
The Killers
Mars Volta
Arctic Monkeys

Hope I helped ? =)
Kid, you wanna expand your mind as well as tastes?

Do yourself a favor & get some Rush.

Try out Yes too.

& of course, The Beatles.

Trust me, you'll be miles ahead of your peers.

No explicit lyrics. No hardcore yelling. Just smart lyrics, & good musicianship.
Fleetwood Mac
REO Speedwagon
Boston
good start
David Bowie
James Gang
Angel
Styx
The Guess Who/BTO
Heart
Cream
All these bands were rockers, though before your time. They were performing great songs and didn't use the F word every other phrase. and your first two answerer's had great bands also. I forgot about RUSH and REO Speedwagon and I'm fans of both. GOOD LUCK.
Cannibal Corpse
Emperor
Napalm Death

There's some soft rock bands to get you started. Hell your parents might enjoy this stuff, it's quite melodic.
They would kill you? OMG. From where I come from I can listen to any music!
Chris B, good one :D
Well as far as I'm concerned the good "rock" bands were in the 60's through 90's! Albeit I am somewhat (!) older than you, the rock bands today do not impress me. Therefore I suggest, in agreement with some of the other answers here,
Rush
Electric Light Orchestra
Cheap Trick
Deep Purple
Metallica- their albums from the 1980's are really good!
Faith No More, their album called The Real Thing
The Ramones
Trouble
Queensrych

No "hardcore" here. Some metal and straight up rock

For your history lessons, I suggest the entire catalog of Iron Maiden!
RUSH

PORCUPINE TREE

GENESIS

THE RED SPAROWES

CASPIAN
man U2 is the most sexiest band on Earth
ok ..i do understand
try listening to
Asteria- the taste the touch
Try some of these bands:

Fall Out Boy.
Panic! At The Disco.
Circa Survive.
Kill Hannah.
Silversun Pickups

There the only bands i can think of at the moment that have very little or none explicit content. Have a listen to them and see what you think.
=]
The Beatles
Jethro Tull
Led Zeppelin
Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac
Pink Floyd
Jimi Hendrix
Free
The Who
The Rolling Stones

All started in the 60's!

The BEST rock music is from the 1960's - early 1980's. Don't limit yourself.

Mike Oldfield
Fleetwood Mac
Queen
Elton John
Robert Palmer
Stevie Nicks
The Cult
Thin Lizzy
Thunder
T.Rex
Uh, I agree to, ***MCR***?, but Panic! At The Disco has some lyrics.

go to http://www.youtube.com
Sufjan Stevens, The Decemberists, Our Lady Peace, Matthew Good, Silversun Pikcups. I'm gonna be honest if you're a 12 year old you'd probably hate all of this. It's not bad pop music. And especially if you're a 12 year old girl.

If you want to be catchy and ridiculous pick up some Blink 182, but if you want something with some substance pick up one of the guys i said ...or The Beatles.
Shinedown
Nickelback
3 Doors Down
Saliva
Skillet
Taproot
The Offspring

Velvet Revolver
