Some on here may be too young to remember the date that we lost three country music stars in a mishap. That day we lost Cowboy Copas, Hawkshaw Hawkins, and Patsy Cline in a horrible airplane crash on March 5,1963. Three brightly burning candles extinguished in a mere few moments. The wreckage of that tiny plane was scatterd for a long distance and the bodies of these people were in shreds, What a sad day for country music. I also reflect on the day the great Jim Reeves was also killed in an airplane crash July 31, 1964. I still remember those days. I also remember when Johnny Horton was killed in a horrible head on collision in November 1960 near Milano, Texas.
The day I realized that rightwing nutjob Mike Curb and his record company were not going away. Country has since ceased to be the music of the working class and is now just schlock, way over produced.
September 12, 2003, the day Johnny Cash passed away.
when eric claptons son fell from a building and died, then he released a song about him... that was so sad (but he's not really country is he...?)
my condolences for you for everytime that day comes
just keep smiling
when people started to consider Shania Twain country music. I still don't get that.
The saddest day to me is when the legendary Conway Twitty passed away!
Feb 13, 2002 death of Waylon
APRIL 6TH 1998...BITTER SWEET FOR ME BECAUSE(in my opinion) WE LOST THE GREATEST~SWEETEST~ MOST ANGELIC FEMALE VOICE IN COUNTRY MUSIC..THE GREAT TAMMY WYNETTE!

IT'S ALSO THE BIRTHDAY OF MY HERO~MENTOR..MERLE HAGGARD...I'M ALWAYS SO CONFUSED ON THIS DAY EVERY YEAR AND STILL CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW TO DEAL WITH THIS...DON'T GET ME WRONG..I'M NOT A LOONEY TUNE OR A BASKET CASE..JUST SUPER DUPER SAD!
The day Conway died was by far the saddest day for me. A huge part of my heart went with him.
The day Conway Twitty died. It was the day before I left California to travel to Nashville for FanFair. All of Nashville was in mourning and every show I attended had a memorial of some sort to Conway.
I remember the day Patsy Cline, Hawkshaw Hawkins, and Cowboy Copas were killed. I was barely a teenager. My mom was really upset. I remember that the most. That was a good answer Fool4TommyCollins.
Somewhere along the late 80's into the early 90's when bands like Rascall Flatts, Sugarland and artists like Tim McGraw, Faith,Carrie Underwood,Taylor Hicks,Kenny Chesney,Big and Rich and several others came on the scene and stuck a knife right thru the heart of country music and poured out it's life and soul on the ground and killed what our fore fathers worked so hard to create. That to me was the saddest day in Country music.
THE DAY NATALIE MAINES WAS BORN.
My first album was Charlie Rich's Behind Closed Doors album. I was 3. Today, I have around 15,000 records and that album remains one of my favorites. Charlie Rich hardly made a bad record. His death was certainly a great loss.

But... I think one of the saddest days in country music history was the rather untimely death of Marty Robbins.

Sorry to hear about your sister, by the way.
the day Garth Brooks "retired"
The day johnny Cash died The Man In Black
They day Waylon passed away. Ten minutes after I heard about his death, I got the phone call that my grandmother died.
