I like Lee Ann Rimes somewhat. Haven't really heard Tanya Tucker sing soo I pick Lee Ann Rimes

Tanya Tucker. Her early songs stand out in my mind more because they were considered to be quite shocking for someone so young to be recording them. For example, "Delta Dawn" talks about mental illness, "What's Your Mama's Name" is about illegitimacy, and "Would You Lay With Me (In A Field Of Stone)" pledges eternal devotion. A field of stone refers to a cemetary. Another song, "Blood Red And Goin' Down" is about a woman who is murdered in front of her children. LeAnn Rimes essentially did covers of other songs such as "Blue", which was supposed to be done by Patsy Cline but never happened and also "You Light Up My Life", which was originally done by both Kacey Cizyk (from the movie of the same name) and Debby Boone. Her voice is good but her songs just don't stand out as much as Tanya Tucker's.

Tanya always. She grew with her music and really knows how to entertain a crowd. Leann started out great but hasn't shown a lot of growth.

I pick LeAnn. She may be the most underrated vocalist out there. I thought we lost her back there in the late 90's with that pop music thing. I kinda enjoyed sum of it but she is so much better in the country music scene. Are ya readin' this Faith?
No disrespect to Tanya but I do enjoy LeAnn's music better. I do know Tanya was a HUGE steppin' stone in not only country music but all modern music. Tana is the legend but give it 20 years and we will still be talkin' about LeAnn.

Tanya Tucker - "Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone) It took a really strong voice to siin that song. Lee Ann Rimes was good, but I think she lacked the range that Tanya had.

They are completely different artists. LeAnn Rimes has great music, but Tanya Tucker is more "Classic" country. I love Tanya Tucker though.

tanya tucker is what country music all about. leanne rimes is more cutest pop princess... tanya tucker sang songs about real life issues.. things people deal with everyday and that helps draw people in to your music. people like artists they can identify with. leanna just doesnt have that real people quality to her

Tanya. She had to compete with the Greats while they were in their prime, Tammy, Loretta, Reba, etc. and country music was a rough place for a little girl to be. Rime's has had everything handed to her on a silver spoon.

Tanya hands down. Leann Rimes ain't got nothing on Tanya. Tanya lived a rough few years but she also has a long list of songs whereas Leann only has a hand full and still is spinning her wheels.
