Am I right?!

Question: Hip Hop producers are more creative than ever and are using less samples (excluding Kanye West). They seem to be the ones keeping hip hop on life support while hip hop sales drop drastically. Most of the rappers out right now have absolutely no lyrical talent and their flow sounds like they are mentally challenged.

I guess I'm definitely Old School now days. Im not even gonna get into it 'cause you know whats up, you said it in your third additional detail. Its all about bling and rims. Those that do have real talent get sucked in and packaged to the labels liking.

Just give me some D.J. Shadow, Pac, Outkasts, or yeah, I like Twiztid. Also, I know its not for everyone, but try some good jazz, or the blues. Im not talkin about this new jazz crap. I mean Billie Holiday, Miles Davis or John Coltrane. I love B.B King and Muddy Waters and Son House and Ray Charles. That was MUSIC.

Another thing, if you can, check out your local scene. There is talent there as long as you have good small clubs nearby.
Very observant
you are sooooo right
yeah good one you said it girlfriend.
Ur 25% correct. You obviously aren't looking in the right places... let me guess, the radio?!?
Your right to a certain point, the industry has been going thru major changes in the last couple of years were the digital boom/ computer age has been altering the way the music is being heard, sold, and mostly artist getting paid. Less money is going in there pockets so now were is the motivation? Artist that are in it for the love are usually the ones not being played on the radio, and just like life you change with the times. Artist have to create new ways of getting the most out of there music, ex. the rock group radiohead are ditching there music label and selling it strictly on the web, and soulja boy (don't care about his music but agree with his hustle) promoted his music online, now he has a contract. There is nothing wrong with samples cause the person you sample from can be noticed again in this day and age and also get paid more money compared to what they got paid in there times.
The Underground music has crappy beats? That's becuse they don't have the bankroll that commerical puppets have. If Twiztid has the backing of Dr. Dre, everyone would be like "M&M's is my favorite candy." Those cats have skill. They rap about stuff that's real. So I wouldn't say the underground has crappy beats. They just don't have the clowns in stuidos that major label ho's do.

I would rather listen to Underground music over any of that trendy pop crap they plaster on the radio that lacks creativity. I mean how many times can you put together a song about club ho's? It's all the same. It all lacks any bit of being original. Most of the crap has one verse and a hook they keep repeating. You call that music? I call that a retarded child beating his head against a wall.
not all of them... alot of rappers have lyrical content you just have to listen to their album instead of listening to the radio. Radio is made for hits, a song that everybody likes or whatever. The album is for people who really have a feel and love for hip-hop and love the artist.
Thats why i like old school. The one thing that bothers me about down south Tx is they dont have alot of underground and if u hear those artists they sound the same as the radio mess just without a contract ya know.
yeah your right but we don't want these super producers becoming rapper eg timberland,Scott starch haveing gay beefs. just for money$$$$$
