Most unlikely music inspirations?!

Question: OK get ready to laugh. Before I tell my story heres a little list of my favorite bands, you will understand why its so funny - Lamb Of God, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Unearth, Bleeding Through, Haste The Day.

So one day I was flipping through channels while screwing around with my guitar, and came acoss Hannah Montana. Normally I would change it instantly but she was playing an accoustic guitar. Not only that but it sounded pretty good actually. So I looked at what chords she was using, and they were fingerings I wouldve never thought would sound good together. I played through "her" song a few times until I got a bright idea of what would sound good next if it was a metalcore song (you know, the songs that start out soft and accoustic then kick in the distortion and gets people moshing). So yea, thanks to Hannah Montana my band has a new kick a** song. LOL and actually I started watching the show, its not too bad really.

Do you have any weird/off the wall inspirations?

When I was in college ( a few moons back....) my best friend and I would listen to Zappa and watch Sat night wrestling - just as a gag. We would crank the tunes and turn the sound down on the wrestling - and I swear there were times when it seemed the zappa was fitting in perfectly with the choatic BS going on down in the "match" on TV. We esp liked Shut up 'N play yer guitar by Zappa - incredible stuff on that double cd. Of course perhaps it was the bong and Becks talking....
SAY WHAT!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
not really
no but yours is a good one
I've played music for over twenty years, but recently I got into Frank Zappa...It was like re-discovering The Beatles. Very complex structure and composition, yet very exciting...it renewed my vigor for music...

And you can't get any wierder than Frank Zappa.
Haha! That actually is pretty funny haha. Those are some kick *** bands too. :]

But actually, last year sometime I was messing around with my guitar and I tried closing my eyes to see if I had some of the chords memorized. I played something... and it sounded wrong. But better! I'm not sure if the chords i played even exist! But whatever I played it sounded good! So I wrote a song and my band entered in a local talent show. We won! With my song with made up chords! It was sweet.
"Life Is A Lemon And I Want My Money Back" by Meat Loaf. I listen to it when I want to feel depressed. LOL!
