WELL HATE IS SUCH A STRONG WORD....BUT IT'S JUST THE WORD I'M LOOKING FOR!! today's music(noise) is too COMERCIAL! ever since the BIG WIGS IN NEW YORK BOUGHT AND DEMOLISHED THE OPRY THEME PARK YEARS AGO..IT WAS THE BEGINNING OF THE END AS FAR AS "REAL AUTHENTIC" NASHVILLE COUNTRY MUSIC!! EVERYTHING AND EVERYBODY AFILIATED WITH SO -CALL "COUNTRY" MUSIC HAD TO DANCE TO THEIR MUSIC AND THINGS WON'T EVER BE THE SAME AS LONG AS IT'S ABOUT THE ALMIGHTY $$$$$$$
I love it today & the oldies or classics too!
It's been said a thousand times that to be a so-called star these days all it takes is a pepsodent smile and a huge cowboy hat if you are male. If you are female it takes revealing clothes and a nice body. To sum it all up the talent is just not there. If Nashville can look at Cowboy Troy and call him sensational then I reckon a mule braying would be phenomenal. Give me the good old classic country and a towel and watch me go. Bless your heart for asking the question.
I can't handle new country. All the females and most of the men sound the same. I don't want to listen to a song with lyrics about someone listening to Hank Williams that sounds like it should be on pop radio. Just because you put on a cowboy hat and sing lyrics about honky tonks and pickup trucks does not make you country. There has been a loss of the country sound. Sorry for the soapbox -s
There are alot of really good Country songs today, but I do find that it is REALLY repetitive, and no so much Country anymore [I personally don't consider Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift Country] It's a shame that all the people with REAL talent are being left out cause of this new 'Pop Country' Genre.

Now, George Strait.. he is one heck of a man! His lyrics, his voice, his integrity.. Wow!
I think of today's country music the same as I think of today's rock music...utter crap talking about the same old thing over and over again.
Although I'm not a big time country fan, I'm from Oklahoma, so I hear country all the time. My favorite songs are usually the older ones. Classic country is great, Hank Williams and others, they just made great music. I'm not too fond of the newer songs, they give me headaches. I'm being serious too. Classic country is the better genre for me.
the majority should be classed as pop.
Strangely I bought a CD last week with a group called BR5-49 singing 'there goes my love' on it.,I've never heard of them before or since, but they were quite impressive.sounded "Old Country"I believe they're a new group
