Yes I remember Johnny Darrell very well. He also recorded "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town" as well as "The Green, Green Grass Of Home" Although he only recorded for a few years from the late 60's to the mid 70's he did sing a good song. Johnny never hit what most would consider the big time but it was certainly not because he was not talented. He was very comfortable in what he did and he did it well. May he rest in peace.
Sorry, but his name doesn't ring a bell. But, I do recall hearing "With Pen in Hand". I remember it from somewhere in my youth. Actually, I recall hearing Bobby Goldsboro too, and he was a pop artist. At this point, my father is probably rolling over in his grave.
