As a freelance singer, you may choose the venues you would like to perform and will not owe a percentage to an agent.
5.Step FiveMake a demo tape. Most establishments want to hear what you have to offer. Present yourself in a positive manner so as to improve your chances of being considered.
6.Step SixPerform every chance you are given, whether you are paid little or nothing. The experience and exposure are priceless, both for your confidence and for word of mouth advertising.
7.Step SevenTake good care of yourself. Performing is a strenuous activity, and because of the late hours you are likely to work, it is easy to get run down and likely damage your voice. Make sure you get enough rest.

There are alot of talented people out there and its tough. Search the internet for more info. Or contact a recording studio and record a cd. Then try to have local radio stations play a song, or submit it to record labels etc.... It will cost you money , but if your that good it may be worth it.

I would suggest getting some voice lessons. You might be an excellent vocalist, but everyone can benefit from some formal training. Your voice coach might even be able to put you in contact with some people in the business.

But if you're looking for an immediate discovery, there's always auditioning for a show like American Idol...but the competition is enormous.

try to put a music video of yours on you tube or somethin, or put flyers up around your town advertising music show and you can find a place to have one and put on a good show (if ya have to make it a talent show, just make sure your the main event

try to write some songs of your own. if u have no idea how to write one, try rewriting on of your favorite songs, like with using different words. like weird al. then perform. anywhere
