I play piano very well, I would like to play for people, what do I do?
I can play some very difficult pieces, but I don't think people really appreciate piano anymore. Where is there an audience?
Answers: Are you kidding? People who appreciate music will appreciate a good piano player, especially if it's live.
As people mentioned, go around some nice piano bars and tell them you're good and that you're willing to entertain. Some restaurants that have a piano on site will need a pianist. Churches, of course. Contact some wedding planners and tell them you exist, they'll find work for you! Play for church services. At most the prelude, offertory, and postlude are selected by the pianist.
*** Contact some of your local Adult Care / Retirement Facilities. They are starving for people willing to entertain for free. You can check with the VA to see if they'd like some music. Airports also have music opportunities, you would just have to find the right person to talk to.
I would recommend trying for at least a 45 min program. Start by asking the fine dining estabs in your area. Put an ad in the local paper or city paper. A good piano player is always being sought out. talk to a pastor at a church, or music director at a church
