How can an artist submit material to a record label for serious consideration?!

Question:

How can an artist submit material to a record label for serious consideration?

I know they get truck loads of unsolicited material that gets chunked right off the bat. How do I get the attention of ppl who can help my career? I don't see addresses on the websites indicating they take submitted material.

Does anyone know anyone who is looking for a singing female comedian?

Answers: You won't see addresses on websites because they are trying to avoid unsolicited material (due to legal reasons). The best way to submit something is to know someone that works there and hand it to them. Join a music organization in your area and start networking around. Ask anyone and everyone if they are in the music scene. Meet at least 5 new people a week that have some contact to the music industry. The more people you know the better your chances are (it really is like playing the lotto sometimes). There are a lot of other things you can try but if you are starting out it's better to know more music industrial types and ask them the questions.
