Why do white people continue to attack hip hop when rock music diplays alot of the same wrongs?
they say rap is back becuase it promotes
1. Drug Use- Many rock and roll songs do also
2. Crimes against women- Many rock and roll songs degrade women with the B word
3. Violence- Many rock songs dipect violence
what rap does not promote is
1. Suicide
2. Cutting yourself up
3. Having teen sex

personally if i had kids i'd rather them listen to hip hop than alot of rock because even though both kinds of music have drug use, degrading women, and violence, it doesn't have the depressing stuff of alot of rock. alot of times when drugs are in rap, the artist is talkin about selling it, where as rock they talk about how they are addicted and need it. i'd rather have my kids out there trying to make money than be a stupid crack head. and in alot of rock the violence seems to be just random, like you know they just want to go out and kill/hurt anybody. at least in rap there is usually a reason for it, (person did them or their family/friend wrong, or gang) WOW!!! THATS AN EXCELLENT POINT!!! Maybe one main reason is Rock music is so damn lound untill its hard to really understand what thier screaming about!! !LOL

and i'm not being racist I'm sick of this battle from both sides. You can find tons of rap that has none of that, and you can find tons of rock that has none of that. The music depends on the individuals making it, it has nothing to do with what genre they are in. Saying many rock song do something is the same thing as saying many rap songs do something. If you want people to be open minded to your favorite music be open minded to theirs. And the word white wasn't necessary, and who knows if it is accurate.
