Question:

How do you sing from your diaphragm ??

hmm

and how do i know if singing form it

Answers: you want to feel your stomach, sides and even mid-back move when you breathe, instead of your shoulders/chest. this is called inhaling the proper way for singing. it gives you more air and helps your neck/throat muscles to stay more relaxed than if you were to breathe like you're speaking. when you sing in your middle and lower registers, make sure you feel most of the resonance in your chest cavity instead of your throat. it gives you a deeper and more grounded sound - and prevents you from trying to sing from the throat, which is very common for pop singers (not to mention this would wear your voice out very soon). also, when singing, try and place your hands around your abdominal area (just below your ribcage). you should feel those muscles pulsating slightly if you're singing from your diaphragm.

singing from your diaphragm is not going to rip your throat out. it's the correct way of producing sound that is clear, resonant and has depth. using your head voice in your lower and middle registers is only going to make you sound shallow and too light - no depth. this is the 'choir sound' that you don't really want for solo singing. classical solo singers sing with chest voice until they reach a 'gear shift' in their voices where they can go no higher if they don't switch to head voice. beyond this they use the head voice, but also with support from the diaphragm. this is how they can sound solid and full on high notes. Good question... anyone? Honey if you can make your diaphragm sing
I've got a good talent agent for you Take a deep breath and engage your stomach muscles/abs,it will feel like a deeper stronger sound. You DO NOT want to sing this way. This way will ruin your voice quicker than you know it. The way you're referring to is your chest voice..This is pop-ish sounding such as Christina Aguilera. Yes, she has a beautiful voice, but her voice will be shot like mariah carey. You want to sing with your head voice, it's a lighter sound. More used by musical singers or opera singers. This is the best way to go because you're not ripping your throat out. good luck with anything you do though. If you feel that your stomach is moving when you sing then your singing from your diaphragm. Don't worry if you look fat ok?

Practice singing with your body in the water (Don't include you head of course) to get a more beautiful voice.

GOOD LUCK sing from your stomach... disregard the comment about it ripping up your vocal cords, that's not true. At any rate, it sounds much deeper and sexier when you sing from your diaphragm.
