Why do people associate Hip-Hop with crime, drugs and prostitutes?!

Question:

Why do people associate Hip-Hop with crime, drugs and prostitutes?

Answers: I think it's more of a stereotype. Even so, some people include those things into their songs, making others believe that that is what all Hip-hop songs say. Because usually the lyrics are about that, or singers have had experience with it before cuz they want to blame hip hop for stuff cuz they don't like it. i don't. They don't associate hip-hop with crime, drugs or prostitutes they associate RAP with crime, drugs and prostitutes because in rap music they do sing about crime, drugs and prostitutes. I mean have you ever heard the lyrics to some of snoop dogg's, dr. dre's or eazy-e's songs? I am a huge hip hop and rap fan and i know exactly why people say this kinda things bout hip hop,cuz rap and hip hop iz da best!!!they dont know how hard their life iz and dont care bout em either..i think people who say this kinda stuff r gay and dont understand real music. 'Let's just blame hip-hop and act like that's the REAL problem.' - Chamillionaire There are some artists who helped people believe that hip hop is a bad thing and has "bad influence" on children. I remember hearing songs who rap about drugs and prostitutes, like they were proud of those kind of stuff. In my country there used to be a guy (he pretended to be a "rap star") raping about those things and in the end it turned out that he was selling girls to other countries...

Most people associate hip hop with rich and pompous asses. It is because they hear those stuff in their lyrics... well, if you'd ever seen a hip-hop video that would explain it some, and actually listening to the words. Because early rap and hip-hop came up from anger.
It came up from black dudes getting locked up for racism.
Thats why there is a sub-genre called "Gangsta Rap".
Theres also a song called "**** The Police".
Theres an example of Gangsta Rap.
Because of this song 81 police were shot at the release of this song.
In the 80's and early 90's police were all racist about black people walking around the streets.
According to Will Smith you couldn't walk 2 blocks without getting stopped by a cop as a black dude.
I hate this racism crap.
