Does anyone know what this song lyric means?

I dont know who sings this, but its goes like this "p.s. if this is austin"? Thanks.

Answers: The song is a story about a person who's lover left unexpectedly without leaving any contact information. THe singer figures that "she went back to Austin" which is assumed to be where she's from. She randomly calls him about a year after she's left and listens to his answering machine. She's amazed to hear that the message says he still loves her. She calls again in a week and although the entire rest of the message has changed (implying that he changes it often) he still says the "P.S. If this is Austin I still love you." She's prepared this time and leaves only her number. He's out of town and so she waits on the day that he's supposed to come back and mimics his messages and you think he's getting her answering machine except it's really her on the line and she says she loves him too. Happy ending.

Specifically "P.S. If this is Austin I still love you." refers to his belief that Austin is where she is. He puts it at the end of all his messages hoping that she will call and hear it, possibly because he wasn't shure that she knew before she left. "Austin" Blake Shelton

It talks about how he is still in love w/ her even though she left him...

She left without leavin' a number
Said she needed to clear her mind
He figured she'd gone back to Austin
'Cause she talked about it all the time
It was almost a year before she called him up
Three rings and an answering machine is what she got

If you're callin' 'bout the car I sold it
If this is Tuesday night I'm bowling
If you've got somethin' to sell, you're wastin' your time, I'm not
buyin'
If it's anybody else, wait for the tone,
You know what to do
And P.S. if this is Austin, I still love you

The telephone fell to the counter
She heard but she couldn't believe
What kind of man would hang on that long
What kind of love that must be
She waited three days, and then she tried again
She didn't know what she'd say,
But she heard three rings and then

If it's Friday night I'm at the ballgame
And first thing Saturday, if it don't rain
I'm headed out to the lake
And I'll be gone, all weekend long
But I'll call you back when I get home
On Sunday afternoon
And P.S. If this is Austin, I still love you

Well, this time she left her number
But not another word
Then she waited by the phone on Sunday evenin'
And this is what he heard

If you're callin' 'bout my heart
It's still yours
I should've listened to it a little more
Then it wouldn't have taken me so long to know where I belong
And by the way, boy, this is no machine you're talkin' to
Can't you tell, this is Austin, and I still love you

I still love you Blake Shelton sings this song. He was once in love with a woman by that name, and is just in hopes that she will come back home to him becase he messed up. It's a song about his ex leaving him cause she wants to figure things out for herself, and he leaves that message on his answering machine. "P.S. If this is Austin, I still love you." Austin is either a nickname or her name, or something like that. "Austin" By Blake Shelton

I love that Song. The song is Austin by Blake Shelton

That line means he still loves Austin. Maybe they had a fight and he never got to tell her sorry and I love you. The answering machine is his chance if she would call, end of the song she dose.

That is just my take on it.
