Question:

Do you know any recording companies that are looking for new young singer/songwriters?

i need to find somewhere useful to put my talent towards so it would be wonderful if you could help me.

Answers: Being a singer/songwriter is great. Why? Because that means double the money. Before recording a demo, make sure you have your music copyrighted. You don't want anyone stealing your music.

Getting in the business isn't an easy task. Record companies will not look at you until your craft is perfected. Take some lessons and learn basic music theory if you haven't already. Knowing these fundamentals will help you move further quicker.Perform around your local area and network. Get your demo recorded after you've developed a foundation in your singing career (you will feel it in your gut when you're ready). Once you've done this, record labels will be ready to hear you. They don't just hear anyone, so try to get an agent or manager to sell you to the company. Always be prepared for criticism, and learn the difference between constructive and negative comments from people. Some advice you can use, but some you can trash if its not coming from a good place. Become stronger with the word no, and keep putting your demos out there until the right company says yes. Its not as easy as finding someone. It is working hard to get to one. Good luck to you and keep striving for you dreams with a healthy dose of reality and patience! Source(s):
Professional singer/teacher Musician's Atlas is a magazine that lists the addresses and contact information of almost all the record labels, managers, and A&R's that are accepting material. It also tells you who is accepting unsolicited material (meaning you can just mail it in yourself with out a lawyer or manager) and who is only accepting solicited material (a manager or lawyer must present it)

You can find the magazine in Borders usually (their full size stores not the little one's in the mall). Barnes & Noble used to carry it but I've only recently seen it in Borders. It only comes out a couple times a year. They keep it in the magazine section.

Here's their website http://musiciansatlas.com
