genious. They are both brilliant; that is not the argument.
I believe that Les is much more legendary.
They are both crescent fresh - no doubt, but Les really has a style like no one else. Tre from P.O.D. or Arvizu from Korn I personally think that Claypool may have more of a gimmick type style, as far as I'm concerned ya heard one primus tune, that pretty much sums it up. Fleas brings an energy and technical style that is tough to beat, but definately flea. If you read Flea's (Michael Peter Balzary) bio you will be astonished, he's a world class trumpet player as well Of the two, Les.
My own pick would be Bootsy Collins. There is no doubt about it, Les Claypool is amazing, as is Flea... but for me personally, I really like the talents of Fieldy of "Korn," Justin Chancellor of "Tool," Geddy Lee of "Rush" and the fun showmanship of Michael Anthony formerly of "Van Halen" and now with Sammy Haggar. There is a lot of great music out there by some great artists! Flea for sure Les Claypool is in a class all by himself. For me Victor Wooten and Marcus Miller Flea. Flea. Flea. Flea. Flea. Flea.
He's just too awesome. Have you heard "Higher Ground"? Or "Around the World"? Flea I have much respect for both, but I would say Les Claypool i agree with ryan--> when les does that thumb slap bass thing i cringe at the sound of it
