It's a shame that music from that era is'nt done like that anymore

Answers: I totally agree with you mate, I was brought up on 50 and 60's music. I was brought up on The Beatles, Cliff Richard, Freddie and the Dreamers, The Searchers, The Monkees, Elvis Presley and all the other old bands. I love them all so much now. I think their so much better then most of the modern music now. I also adore Queen, the greatest rock band ever!! ROCK ON!! I am a great fan of motown music now as well, I like Marvin Gaye, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, The Commordores and all the other motown bands. Yeah, me too. And now my collection insists of so many rock and roll cd's, James Taylor, Simon and Garfunkel, Johnny Cash, and lots more. Good music. I'm going to like you, and your mum. I agree im only 34 but i have been a huge beatles fan for as long as i remember, i also like all 60s music. It is also a shame that people think the "old" music is crap. Some is, a there is a lot of crap around today, but there is good music today as well which 50s and 60s fans will like. Just have an open mind and forget what is supposedly trendy I don't think the music that is around today can be classed as music anyway....

Hey I'm a poet and was unaware of the fact! Sometimes you hear some of it in television commercials. It always makes me stop and listen.

Quite recently I've heard "You Send Me", though in the commercial it's not done by Sam Cooke, "Dream a Little Dream of Me" (Mama Cass?). None other comes to mind just now, but I know there are a few more.

On the other hand, the "Hallelujah Chorus" being the background music for red and blue bears frolicking down the beach toward the port-a-potties is wayyyyy over the line. Hi - Couldn't agree more , nothing quit elike it nowadays . Suggest you check out www.magpiedirect.com . They list all sorts of music from the 40's to 80's and produce a monthly magazine of newly re-issued CD's etc. Hope you find it worthwhile - keep rockin music from that era is done like that.

Music today is full of swearing and monotony. Usually, a song from that era that is redone tends to do well.

I grew up with music from the 30s and 40s from my parents, 50s from my elder sister 60s from my other sister and had the 70s. there are still songs of today i like though, Mika is good if you listen to his albums. Also like scissor sisters robbie williams and others that actually have a tune and nice lyrics. I was too, but then found SALVATION through Northern Soul music, it's still being played and danced to in venues all around the world. I was brought up listening to 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's to present. All genres, rock, pop, classical, country, blues, jazz, R&B, disco. I developed a true love of almost all music from those eras and have lots of it. I dont care for much of todays sound and I despise rap. To me thats not music, but music is all about personal taste so its very subjective, but thats what it's supposed to be.
