Anyone else hate Gwen Stefani, when she left No Doubt?
I just boycotted her music since she started her solo work. I loved No Doubt, but can't stand Gwen Stefani the soloist. Anyone else?
Answers: i liked no doubt, but i don't like the stuff she makes on her own. not my type of music. but i loved tragic kingdom. and i think it's funny that the video they made for don't speak is what happened to the band Nope, she has done great both with and without, she will be around for a long time. I think she is amazing. You never truly were a fan of hers if you stopped liking her just because she left No Doubt. That is really shallow. She is of the most creative women of our time. I loved her in No Doubt, some of her new songs are not always the best but I still think she is amazing. She is reuniting with No Doubt and making an album soon as a matter of fact. Nope...I like her talent & music either way...we all grow up & evolve! :-) I don't hate her, I think she's a talented musician. I just don't like the direction she took with her solo career. I'll take No Doubt over Gwen Stefani's solo career any day. I loved No Doubt to begin with, but my interest in them waned from "Hey Baby" onwards... started sounding too trendy and techno, it wasn't the same rock/ska/alternativegroup I started listening to and loving. "Return to Saturn" was their last good CD.
As far as Gwen goes, I couldn't care less about her solo act. Yep I agree with you... Let's face it her songs sound like she's back cheerleading again ... yawn...
Obviously she was supported by good musicians and songwriters when she was with "No Doubt" and therefore her tunes were soulful and interesting.
I wouldn't accept her solo stuff if you paid me! i love her. with or without no doubt. Like a previous answerer said it seems like No Doubt sold out to the popularity contest on their last group album, and not the greatest hits one.
I can't stand Gwen Stefani but I hear No Doubt is getting back together for at least one album, I wonder if it'll be their old/original/great style or that sellout trash. I hope it's the former! No Doubt is a much better band without that attention hog. Well, i think the image she had while a part of No Doubt was definitely better than her solo image. Her solo image is more in the pop genre which s so over rated and she probably could have been more successful if she were still part of no Doubt.
I personally, as you said, don't like alot of her solo music, if anything maybe like the general beat and rhythm but to be honest thats about it.
But i have to admit, i like her personality she seems original and not so typical hollywood style attitudes and personality
Anyway i hope to see a bit of the old Gwen back soon. I don't hate her now, but I'd take No Doubt Gwen over Solo Gwen. I couldn't agree more. Her sound has no originality, you cant distinguish her from the other modern pop crap that music executives hits. I personally don't understand how you go from ska to what ever her sound is now. In her defense, she's not the only one. I have never liked her really. I met her once backstage when No Doubt was first making it big and she was a full and total bisatch. :) I love No Doubt also but Gwen Stefani is also gd solo I hated her while she was in no doubt as well..... Yeah she sucks at being a solo. I miss Tony from the band, they were better when they were all together as a bad. Her new music is lame because it does not seem her style. The band was way better. I am with you 100% percent. I blame her marriage to gavin rosdale or who the f*ck that guy is.
