Rock-n-Roll or Hop-n-Pop?
Each year during the nominations for the R-n-R Hall of Fame I walk away shaking my head in discuss, Not so much as they didn't pick my favorite band or singer, I really don't have one... but the fact that each year they edge closer to missing the real rock genre in favor of dance, hip-hop/rap and pop musicians instead of the pioneers of - Rock and Roll.
Disco is not rock.
Rap is not rock.
Pop is not rock.
I don't believe I've ever known Donna Summer to stand on top of an amp stack and scream "We're gonna rock this place tonight!" and then light a piano on fire or smash a Fender on the stage.
Besides, should Motown inductees be eligible as Rock inductees? That's like honoring M.C. Hammer at the CMAs.
If you had 3 nominies, who would it be?
(Note: They should have made a serious contribution to the root style of Rock and Roll.)

Ian Anderson
{I know that Fleetwood Mac is already in, and I think Jethro Tull are in too, but both Stevie and Ian have solo careers} Metallica - Undoubtably affected metal as we know it today
SOAD - While alot of people do not agree with this their first 2 albums will still be remembered as great in years to come
NOFX - another that people wont agree with but these are the kings of underground music, there is not other band as big as these that you will never hear on any radio station. King Diamond

: ) Rock-n-freakin'-Roll. It's like the greatest music ever. There are like so many types metal,soft rock,southern rock, grunge, cristian,emo,punk...come on the list is never ending.
Don't get me wrong some country i can deal with i can even put up with a little rap, but rock is the all time best music ever.
the motown subject i don't think they should be eligible. it's like a whole different style. my 3 nominees would be
1. Black Sabbath
2. AC/DC
3. Kiss
ALL of them rock out loud. First off, Motown was one of the first genere to even feature a rock spin.

2) Nirvana
3) Aerosmith
