Which music player (itunes, windows media...) is the best at managing a lot of music?

I used to use itunes, but it was so slow when i tried to add new music to it. It usually only added the first few letters of artists of the folder i added, A-D, or it would freeze. I like how itunes is set up though, much more than windows media player, which is what I use now. I can't stand it. Any suggestions?

Answers: I've noticed that with iTunes, it also tends to crash my computer. I always use Winamp, works great and has a few perks, like an equalizer.

http://www.winamp.com/ I've never heard of iTunes doing that. Make sure you have the latest version available. I've used iTunes since its inception and I love it. I have also used Windows Media, but I find iTunes much easier to use.
