Is Rascal Flatts really country?!

Question:

Is Rascal Flatts really country?

I don't like country, but I do like their sound. I call their style pop music played with country instruments. What does anyone else think?

Answers: Songs like Me and My Gang and These Days are really pop songs. What makes Rascal Flatts fit the country mold is their unwavering dedication to songs that strike at the heart.

But they are not really country, and neither is Shania Twain. They are pop acts who have learned how to format their songs for a country audience. yeah, it's country, but it's hard to tell country from much else anymore, it all sounds the same now. try listening to some of their older older songs, it'll sound more country then, it's just a new thing. Yes, Rascal Flatts is a country group. I also LOVE them, it was the Song, "I Melt" they recorded a couple of years ago, that caught my attention. I am a music lover, and this group is awesome. Have you heard, God Bless the Broken Road, by them. Their new CD is out. I plan on getting it on Sat. 09-29.
take care. they started out singing Christan music. then they moved into the country music scene. But many of their songs are played on other stations besides country. They have a nice tone that is not so twang and not so country. is anyone country really these days--at least the really popular country singers like Rascal Flatts, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Keith Urban...forget the Southern accents and the twang. It seems like country has moved into more of the pop culture.

But I love country: Rascal Flatts is amazing. it doesn't matter what genre of music it is... there music sounds great and it's not about violence, sex, or drugs which is a rarity these days. there latest cd came out this week so you should def. get it...and you should see them in concert, it's AMAZING! ukeleali?? i dont know if i spelled it right but mandolin and banjo and harmonica could be used for country music but there really isnt any other instruments that could be called country instruments i havent heard rascall flats use them hmmm not yet anyways but they are country /newer style you could say/ oh forgot about the harpsicord my bad the instruments that i just called out are used for bluegrass mostly It's countrified pop music. They're a lotta country mixed with pop. They have scuh beautiful harmonies and songs that it's really hard not to like them.
I don't think they're "technically" country, but I think they're gifted and are definitely now considered a mainstay on the country music scene. They are considered a country group. Now a days we don't have the "traditional" country sound. If you listen to another new age country artist you'd see that the majority of them are now doing things like Raschal Flatts. about as much country as Johnny Cash was opera I think you hit the nail on the head, other then maybe the played with Country Instruments. They are POP, just like quite a bit of the newer Country. There's been an awful murder down on Music Row.
