Someone told me it was about a girl who's father died when she was young, and got a step-father that molested her.
Is that right? Or is it about something else?

The lyrics are about how your life is always spiraling downwards, and your friend/lover is telling you that they want to end it all. It's like contemplating with a suicidal close friend. I've been confused with that video, it seems like the girl is being treated fo mental problems because of trouble in the family?
