How do I self teach myself to play the piano?!

Question:

How do I self teach myself to play the piano?

I want to teach myself how to play piano, all I want to know is how do I read the notes? Like the A,B,E,F stuff and the notes that are like the little circles on six lines. I was just wondering if they're the same as the guitar too. Because I play a little guitar and they taught me already. But I dont know which key is which so is there like a site that can tell me? Oh and I'm just a kid so Im gonna need something easy to read. And dont suggest to get a teacher because my parents are way too buzy to listen to me. Or is there like a learning sheet when I buy a keyboard or somthing?

Answers: Wow, your parents are lucky to have a kid with such initiative. But anyway, guitar sheet music is different from piano sheet music, but the concepts are pretty much the same.

The first thing you need to learn are the scales, the doe-rey-me-fah-so-lah-ti-doe! That's the most basic thing you need to start with and then learn how to do it fast. Then you can do some research and look for other scales.

Hope that helps, it's kinda hard to explain something that's so hands on in words. Maybe when you get to high school you'll be able to take lessons.

PS, if you like music this much, make sure you join the school band. Source(s):
http://www.free-online-piano-lessons.com... hello!

first of all you must have a lot of determination and patience if you really want to learn by yourself.. i myself studied playing it before I got to have an instructor. well, if you want to learn reading the notes, perhaps I can give it to you. the "staff" is composed of only five (5) lines.. so "do" starts with a "ledger line" below the staff, which is equivalent to "C". next would be a "space" in which "re" or "D" would take place. continue placing notes, using ledger lines if necessary. the order is do,re,mi,fa,sol,la,ti,do which is equal to C,D,E,F,G,A,B,C. to speed up the memorization of these and its placing on the staff, mnemonics are provided. for the lines, from bottom to top (ledger lines not included), its "Every Good Boy Does Fine" in which every starting letter is the note itself. for the spaces, "Father Always Comes Early" also suggests the notes for the spaces.
well, for your next question, if your referring to the strings of the guitar which is composed of six (6) lines, well that's not the same when it comes to piano because pianos use staves or staffs while guitars use "tablatures" or tabs (for plucking).

well goodluck on your self study and I hope this could be of help.. :)
