Answers: Hi,
First off-- start listening to all country music.
If you know someone who is country brad.Than Iwould start hanging aroiund them more.I am a country bumkin myself.
And let me tell you that country twang will
find you sooner than you think. You ever watch heehaw.Find yourself some real hillbillies and you will catch on real quick. You will begin to speak it alot more, and you won't even be trying too. Source(s):
I am country.I even thought I lost my accent one time ,and everyone just laughed at me.I had been in Michigan, and all my family from Texas, and Tenn.and Ark.was there. It just rubbed off on me even more. You have to be from the south it comes naturally Practice singing Bavarian folk songs and yodeling. The country music twange came from the German/Swiss yodel. It's a feeling. Mine comes and goes. come to KEntuckY we all have an accent that just comes naturally. I am of Germanic descent and I guess it does just come naturally. But let me ask you this...WHY? I have worked my WHOLE LIFE to GET RID of it. I hate it. Define yourself, be yourself. not all country songs have that 'twang' in them. If you try to be something you aren't, you will never be happy with what you have in life. It will never be your own achievement. Be yourself and let that different country sound come out. After all, Look what happened with Elvis, he created a whole new sound sensation! I will be honest with you... There is nothing worse than hearing someone try to always sound country... Be proud of your roots! I live in Kentucky and it is something that comes naturally Marry your cousin :) You either have it or you don't.

Nothing like a fake, it sounds like ****.

That's my feelings from being a country fan all my life.
I've heard many try and it just don't work, you can always tell a fake. Ask Natalie Maines she does a good job of pretending to have one. Anyone who doesn't believe me try listening to the Dixie Chicks music and listen to a few songs over time. You can very clearly hear that it comes and goes. BE BLESSED TO BE BORN IN TEXAS !!!!
Or Marry one !!!

HA HA HA I pick it up whenever we visit my in-laws in the South. It's kind of scary; I can't help it it just happens. When it starts I'm afraid they think I'm mocking them, but I can't hep it. After a few hour listening to them talk, my brain just makes me talk that way. I have the same problem around Latinos, Eastern- Europeans, etc... Listen to the music and hang around some country folk....that'll help.......Or just come on down to Texas baby....YEE HAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't have to "twang" to sing country songs. There are a lot of great country singers from New York, New Jersey, California, etc. Believe me, there is nothing worse than a Yankee trying to speak Hillbilly! Be proud of your roots!
