Answers: Im not sure if it is bands just getting better, but maybe its just the really good bands are starting to come into the open. I suppose its easier to get noticed nowadays what with the internet, myspace is helpful to alot of bands, TV and things. Its definetly a good thing anyways! I luv little man tate !! also just jack nad lilly allen quite honestly, it seems English bands are trying to sound a bit more American. I much prefer the eighties English new wave sound Check out The Cribs too. I think it is all crap. Listen to Vin Garbut for real music and lyrics I think British music has always been good and has been up there with the best. International sales by our artistes show that to be true. However we have also produced James Blunt, so don't count too many chickens. It's you.

Pop music generally stopped evolving in Britain in 1977-78 with punk and 'post-punk'.

Since then, everything has been either a boring old revival of some dreary old form or a novelty song.

On the plus side British pop music is at least a lot better than American music. In the U.S.A. the clocks all stopped in about 1973. They never stopped wearing flares from the first time around. And look at their haircuts!

As for rap, it's been in Britain for more than a quarter of a century! It's about time this tired old tripe was put out of its geriatric misery. For me, its hit or miss........but at least they are being consistent. There is a constant flow of music coming out of the UK which hasn't really stopped or slowed down since the 60s.
