Co-ordination for drummers?!


Question:

Co-ordination for drummers?

i have played drums for like 2 months now i know im still a beginner but i need some advice on how to increase my speed and how to have good co-ordination
also im not so good in using my left hand in drumming(im right handed)what should i do?
any other advice on drumming would be cool too
p.s:i wanna be a hardcore drummer i dont wanna play like slow music and stuff my fav. drummer is aaron gillespie

Ah, this will just take time and practice. Try listening to some of the musical styles you want to play and just kinda tap along...Figure out what your strengths and weaknesses are, and go from there. Like I'm not so great with high-hat work, so I just practice that extra hard and tap drum beats in my head while lifting my left foot in the place it should be lifted.
For speed, get a metronome and start at about 100 and play a simple (but not too simple) beat with the high-hat in eighth notes. Just increase the time of the metronome by about...10 or 20 every time. You will notice yourself being able to play faster every time you do it.
I would recommend drum lessons, too. They can work wonders if you have a good teacher.
