Answers:

Well, its hard not being able to show you ;) The best way to learn bar chords is to start with an A chord. It is closer to the body frame which makes it easier to form. I battled with this issue for awhile since my hands are smaller than a normal guitarists'. Once you form the A chord strum it for a good 5 min or so and keep practicing it. It will take several weeks to build up the strength to hold your index finger down across the neck. After you are getting the A to sound good with minimal fret buzz(bumps), you can slide the hand to other positions, like a G or a B. The most difficult of the barre chords is the F but it can be played using the "cheater" way by using the thumb to hold down the E string. (which by the way can be used in all barre chords) Once you get the basic main scale down, you can switch to the other side by building strenght to your 3rd finger. Transitioning from G to C can help build this strength as well as A to D. Good Luck!!!!!
