Just curious to see what sort of answers will come.

Hey JESS, don't be so defensive.

I'll admit.... some Country music is really crappy... but the majority of it is soothing to my soul and makes me feel good. It gives me pleasure when I hear a good ballad or story about real people. The type of people I grew up with.... the type of people I deal with everyday.

After living in Houston, Dallas, Oklahoma City, and a few other large cities, I learned that the folks who lived there had no concept of country life. They seemed to always be in a hurry..... to always see the worst in people.. to chase their collective tails and never get anywhere. They seemed to be listening to music that always sounded the same... the same beat ... the same words... the same ideas.

I found I was the one 'out of place'... I listened to Country Music.

What I find with Country Music is a diverse style which supplies the listener with feelings of sadness, happiness, comedy, sincerity, ... tales of friendship, divorce, love, loves lost, history, and fantasy. All the feelings I grew up with. I also have a great sense of the history of the music and where it came from.

So, does Country Music suck?.... sure... some of it.... But I pick and choose which songs I like and throw out the rest.

That's the best I can say it... It works for me..
