What to rap about when making a song?!

What to rap about when making a song?
as one Y/A member told me about how rappers get so rich but he said that the ones that are not succesful are preoccupied with making songs about material goods and "thug life". but when i listen to 2pac 50 cent eminem and other famous rappers thats just about all they rap about, what do you think i should rap about??? ; )

Well you don't have to rap about "thug life" to get rich, that is not true. You can rap about good things that happen in your life, your friends or family, anything that you're interested in rapping about. Don't rap about something unless you don't mind who hears it. You can also rap if you're angry, say how you feel, but rap about anything that interests you, and I'm sure someone will like it.
What do you like?
Most of the rappers that rap about thug life, rap about it because they can seriously relate to it. That's obviously what they enjoy or like, and is what they're used to. You should rap about something you can relate to or something that you "feel" deeply and your rapping can be inspiring and maybe even touching. Depending upon what you rap about of course. But it's totally your choice on what to rap about, you make the decision, i hope i helped!
