Everybody's wasting time trying to catch a ride?!

Question:

Everybody's wasting time trying to catch a ride?

There ain't no magic carpet station around here
Spending time waiting for the other side
You're better off to live life while you're here
Cause there ain't no heroes
Modern day saviours
There ain't no master plan to this madness
There ain't no superman
There ain't no white knights
In shining armour
But there's a heart inside and it's waiting
For you to learn to fly
Everybody's wastin' time asking questions why
Answers don't always give what you need
Spending your time looking through a shattered glass

Answers:

Your song is commendable because it has a worthy purpose to motivate persons to accept their individual responsibility in the direction of their lives; to determine themselves to the maximum extent realistically possible; to be the heroes in their own life stories; to be their own saviours; and to be self-actualized individuals or self-creating creatures.

Unfortunately, it is usual that persons lack exercise of their freedom and lack the will to take responsibility for their life outcomes. They get lost in a world of fantasy and optimistic expectations. Instead of looking inside of themselves for their strength with which to drive themselves, they look outside for someone or something else to carry them throughout their lives to their desired destination. Persons wait for their saviour or their hero to arrive when they wait for their great soul mate to come take away their loneliness; for the winning lottery ticket to take away their poverty; for the great business associate with whom to have a profitable venture to take away their misery or dissatisfaction with their social status and material circumstances.

Few live according to the recognition that only they can save themselves, that only they can solve their own problems. It is indeed a challenge to act based on the recognition that we are the ones most fit to find the solutions for our life issues, and to take charge of our destinies.

While it is common for persons to depend on others to bring them happiness, I avoid such dependency to the best of my ability. But, of course, it is neither possible nor desirable to be entirely independent. I strive to be self-sufficient to the fullest extent realistically possible, and to develop my various intellectual, creative, and social capacities so that I may progress and find the happiness that is reached only through much self-discipline and endeavour.
