Is it possible..?

for me to play a bass?
i have tiny hands, my brother tells me that i have to have big hands so each finger fits into a fret.

he told me i could play i just wouldnt be able to get really good.
is this true?

Not true at all. Many bands, after all, have had female bass players. It's your skill as a musician, not your hand size, that makes the difference.

If you feel uncomfortable with a full-size bass, you'll find many companies make slightly smaller instruments. Here's an example of one:

There's no reason that this will sound 'wimpy' - that has everything to do with your set-up, and not the size of the bass in any way. You will sound like any other bass player, well if you practise hard, anyway : )
