Question:

How do i set my Korg pandora's box to sound like Van Halen?

Answers:

ALOT of trials and failures went into "EDDIES SOUND"..he used to boil his strings before replacing, custom hot rodded pick ups, custom tube amps with many variations,BUT...I can get you going in the right direction....Not sure whcih Korg box you have..but....if it's "multi effects" here you go
1). distortion=Hard dist.(whatever Korg happens to call it)Massive gain!!Helps them harmonics jump out
2). Hall reverb set to about 25% level...50% resonance(fiddle about you'll find the spot)
3).Eddie used to use the BOSS Phaser II (green one)set on mode 1 (again you'll have to trial and error this till you dial it in)
4). a slight amount of chorus to give it that "doubled"sound
That will give you his basic tone...for solos hit your delay about 200ms..and a touch of pre-delay..if you have a "tempo delay"even better, set the tempo and save it!!
These settings will get you at least in the ball park, from there you'll have to mess around till you got it to where you want.Different companies call various effects by different names....might want to check out "GUITARSHOP.com" magazine and "GuitarWorld.com"...both have articles on MANY guitarists set ups....Good luck. (this is easier than dropping $2,500 on SALDANO head, and a Peavey 5150 head, and Ernie Ball Music Man EVH edition)Rock on!!
