Why hip hop artist use Robotic effect on Vocals and think it sounds good?
It sounds terrible but they use it often. I'm not a hip hop listener but at work, the coworkers who control the stereo always put it on hip hop so i have to listen. and also MTV always have hip hop videos on it, sometimes i browse mtv just to see if there is anything good... so i land on hip hop videos .
What's the deal with digitally robotizing the vocals? It sounds terrible

To be fair its not just the rap/hip hop artists do it. Synthezing voices has been around longer that rap has. Sometimes it is annoying, like that guy t pain whos enitre voice is fake. Someone told him that it would be a good idea to do this, and that person should be slapped. I agree with you on that point. But sometimes it is cool, if its only for a line or so. Much more than that, then it becomes stupid.
