Need some good rock songs for a gig!?
I'm 14 and my friend is 13, I play guitar and he plays drums. We just got a gig at a little festival and we need some good cover songs to do. There are going to be a lot of kids from a church, so it has to be approproate for them. We don't have a singer, so we're doing instrumental anyway. We need some good songs to play that will still sound good instrumental, and aren't too hard, but maybe look like it.
We like Steve Vai, Buckethead, Dragonforce, Sonata Arctica, Rhapsody of Fire, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, NOT ACDC, Jimi Hendrix!!!, Boston, the Doobie Brothers, Rush, Aerosmith, and all that stuff.
Answers:
Play songs that are fit for the occasion.
Church gigs, should be something NOT rocking like Van Halen or Jimi.
Maybe more like the Doobies, Maybe some slow Led Zeppelin, I like "Don't look Back" by Boston.
Maybe you could even take some request from the kids there, or have a list of songs that you can play and see what the listeners would like to hear.
