How would a inde record label get on a partial tour with a larger band?!

Question:

How would a inde record label get on a partial tour with a larger band?

i have a record label and i have an artist who i want to put on a tour with a well known band. i am thinking a partial local tour (i.e. if this band who is touring the country are doing 5 shows on the east coast, i want my band to play those east coast shows). i just want to know if anyone knows where to start looking, calling, asking. who should i talk to and what company should i be trying to contact?

Answers:

The best answer that I can give you is to talk to the bands tour manger. This might be hard to do, if they are a rather popular band. A good way to start is to make sure that the band that you want to send on tour is capable of bring in large audiences. Ask yourself, have they played shows before, do they have a large fan base on the east coast? Concert promoters want to make as many people come to the shows as they can. If they think that the band will make more people want to come to the show, then they will consider you. If they don't think that it would be worth it for them to take you on then they will not. The best way to go about this is to, be confident in the band. Get ahold of the tour manger and then be ready to show them that your band can kick ***. You might also want to start small, sending the band on tour as a co-show opener. Like opening for the opening band. Everyone has to start somewhere right? Best of Luck, Hope that I helped!
