Whats so good about heavy metal?

I hate heavy metal, And i was wondering why some people like it?

As in any style, there are good songs and bad songs, and unfortunately some of the best are never heard on the radio. Yes, some heavy metal songs have too much tuneless screaming for my taste too, but they aren't all like that. Bands like Metallica write heavy metal songs with memorable melodies and thoughtful lyrics, and progressive metal bands like Dream Theater take it to a whole other level of complexity. Dream Theater's "Scenes From a Memory" is a deeply moving 78-minute rock opera, and one of my favorite albums of all time.
