What are the top 10 greatest rock bands of all-time?
Here's my list.
1. AC/DC
2. Led Zeppelin
3. The Beatles
4. Pink Floyd
5. The Who
6. The Doors
7. Guns 'N' Roses
8. Lynyrd Skynyrd
9. The Rolling Stones
10. Jimi Hendrix Experience
Answers:
1. AC/DC - agree that they put on a great live show. I would tie them with ZZ Top. You know what you get when you go to the show.
2. Led Zeppelin - up to 1975. I don't think Plant's vocals were good on the last 2 tours.
3. The Beatles - As a live band they were terrible. Van Morrison with Them, Kinks, and Animals were better live.
4. Pink Floyd - agreed because they had talent that didn't "eclipse" the live show. Tool is the closest thing today. King Crimson is also great live, as is any side project Les Claypool's involved with.
5. The Who - up to Quadrophenia tour, but did put on some great shows in the 90s.
6. The Doors - not known as being a great live band. Way too inconsistant.
7. Guns 'N' Roses - up to 1992. It got lame.
8. Lynyrd Skynyrd - and Allman Brothers when there were brothers.
9. The Rolling Stones - early 70s tours were classic.
10. Jimi Hendrix Experience - later shows were less theatrical but the tapes show some great playing.
