Why do you like Purple Haze?!

Why do you like Purple Haze?
I am a BIG fan of Jimi Hendrix. I have every song he ever recorded. But, I've never been a fan of Purple Haze and it's probably his best known song. I don't hate it or anything, but I think he's done much better.
If you like it, why?

Number 1, the color purple, my birthstone is amethest, #2, I grew up partly close to San Fransisco, during the time he was just becoming popular, along w/ the haight ashbury scene, the line "scuse me, while i kiss the sky", alot of times got misstaken 4 "this guy" thus quickly making him a fave amongst alternative lifestylez! hehe.. just a little humor there.
