Does anyone know where to go to find what kind of guitars or amps bands use?

Checking out the gear at concerts is a good way .
Also look at the interviews in Guitar Player to see what the pros are playing.
It's obvious that the pros are not playing a Fender starter pack with a cheapo guitar and a 10 watt amp .
When the pros go into a studio/tour they play quality instruments that give the best sound .
I saw B.B. King at Sam Ash buying some equipment and it was the expensive stuff .

Also be aware that some musicians do not tell everything about their equipment because they do not want people stealing their sound .
It's a musician thing that dates back to Louis Armstrong and beyond .
