its about a cancer patient and his journey(thoughts, feelings, life) while hes on his hospital bed.

- -okay here the patient remembering when he was young and his dad taking him to a parade (obviously) extra info gerard dad did take him to a parade when he was younger which probably influence that line. but the patient is not Gerard. patient is fictional

-- his father telling hiim when he gets older will he stand up for kids that are messed up and misunderstood/that had a hard life. people that dont fit in.

The plans that they have made?
-- overcome and prove people wrong that said he would amount to nothing.(extra info. most members from this band especially gerard and frank when they were in school people like teachers would tell them they will amount to nothing.)
by saying the plans that they have made they mean by people who try to put them down.

--this is the fictional part of the story. MCR is the black parade aka their alto ego. the black parade significance is the celebration of life and deaf.

--umm i think this part means like even though this world and life is ugly. but their are also things living for. because there is also a lot of beautiful things in life and world. i also think this is the black parade telling the patient that his memory will carry on. well thats my outlook on it. influenced by the song. knowing alot about the band and hearing a lot of their interviews.

this song basically sums up the concept of the album. but all the songs can be looked as a whole and separately which is why i think its a phenomenal album. best ive heard. and the why they paint the picture with a song. amazing. the lyrics are brilliant. other topics the concept of the black parade talks about is: Fear, Regret, Mother War, Life, Hope, Death
