A question about Philip Glass....?!

Question:

A question about Philip Glass....?

Is the recording of Philip Glass's incidental music (play soundtrack) for the 1979 play "The Elephant Man available anywhere? The play was by Bernard Pomerance, for further clarification. The sheet music has recently become unavailable for unknown reasons, but what I'm really looking for is a recording of the music.

I am not looking for the original movie soundtrack by John Morris; the play and the movie are two totally different things.

Answers:

I am not sure he did the music for the 1979 play. He did write a piece in 2001 for “The Elephant Man” (a revival of the play) but according to his website, which is quite thorough and updated regularly there are no recordings available. I have included some links below to the (1979-1981) Broadway play that has a listing of the incidental music used during that performance (J. S. Bach, Sammartini, Camille Saint Saëns, Gabriel Fauré, Sir Edward Elgar and Heiss; Music arranged by David Heiss) and a link to the “The Elephant Man” composition page on PhilipGlass.com

Hope this helps.
